Nathan Hindmarsh expects a stellar season
01 Feb, 2010 09:52 AM
PARRAMATTA Eels workhorse and one of Robertsons favourite sons Nathan Hindmarsh is due to return to full pre-season training as he recovers from a wrist reconstruction.
The back-rower had surgery on his troublesome left wrist before Christmas and spent a month in a cast.
He resumed training with the NRL squad after an extended break following his tour to Europe with the Australian Kangaroos for their successful four nations competition campaign.
The former Blues representative decided to have the surgery in December so he would be ready for round one of the 2010 NRL season and is on track to break Brett Kennys record for the most games played for the club (265) early this year.
Hindmarsh said he was excited about the upcoming season for the Eels and was keen to resume full training soon.
I got the cast off in mid-January, then had a week of physio and back into it, he said.
The recovery has been going really well so at the moment Im doing everything at training but working with the ball, so Im not far behind the other players.
I think weve got a great squad this year and there is a real buzz around the boys.
Im looking forward to running onto Parramatta Stadium for the first time in round one with them, and a huge home crowd to cheer us on. The Eels are scheduled to play the Dragons in round one on Friday, March 12 at Parramatta Stadium.
