Nathan Hindmarsh snubbed big offers to stay an Eel

NATHAN Hindmarsh knocked back offers from English Super League giants Wigan and St Helens to remain loyal to Parramatta this week. Hindmarsh was granted permission to leave the Eels a season before his current deal expires.
Instead, in a move sure to warm the hearts of the Parramatta faithful, he sacrificed the big bucks and extended his career at Parramatta for another two years.
Hindmarsh's re-signing is one of the few major player announcements Parramatta are expected to make ahead of 2010.
The only other name players in their sights are Roosters pair Shane Shackleton and Craig Fitzgibbon, and Bulldogs playmaker Daniel Holdsworth, who has barely been seen in the top grade this year.
In other news, hard-hitting centre Beau Scott is certain to join backrower Ben Creagh in signing a new deal at the Dragons.

So they gave him permission to leave at the end of this year?
Thats crazy, can you imagine the morale of the fans.

Wow, we are really scraping the bottom of the Barrell now. Holdsworth and Fitzgibbon, all we need now is to wait for Lowrie Re-signing.

i'd take fitzy on a 1-2 year deal for sure... would set a good example for players and he can still play... better than our other back rowers (besides hindy) at the moment... Remember the impact Ben Kennedy had at manly... Maybe thats what we are going for.

honestly, just think about it for a moment, who's been 2 of the roosters best and consistant forwards?

any person that doesn't want a guy like Fitzgibben in your side for a season obviously hasn't seen much of him in the last couple of years..

lets hope that one of his best mates can entice him at the club because we desperately need a guy like him there.

Fitzgibbon for twelve months would allow some of the players at Wenty (those that are left  ) and the NYC more time to develop and he would be a great leader to learn from - even for twelve months.

I'd be happy with Fitzgibbon here on a one year deal.

As if he'd leave the rooster though..

I think like us, the roosters have some backend payment dramas involving the bulldogs players they signed, that's why they're trying to offload MOM...

in an article yesterday we were linked to poore, offering him 300k a season.
That is a big offer for him and would like to think we are a chance for him....
shackleton and fitzy would be good buys.... but holdsworth?

i could handle fitzy for a year - he's going ok - and tbh it seems many of our other forward options really aren't up to it ... then let the real rebuilding begin

if we could get both of those roosters that would be great, bolster our forwards and we have KK getting better by the week, our backs are very talented.
We could have a good year next year if we could get those 2.

Absolutely..

they've been the 2 gun forwards for the chooks all year, if they lost them both to us or anyone else than that's a savage blow to the club.
