The draft has just gotten underway with Minny taking Towns at number 1.

Lakers who were expected to take Okafor have taken Russell at number 2, must mean they are confident at grabbing a big man in free agency.

Yeah that is a great pick up, a big steal for them, if Wade and Dragic both stay and if health is good to them

Whiteside
Bosh
Winslow
Wade
Dragic

A nice starting 5

I know very little about anyone outside of Towns, Okafor and Russel. I honestly cannot see what Philly is doing at this point. Reports that Embiid is having complications with his foot(some said he might not play again this season) and there were reports last year he was a was not rehabbing properly last year and gained weight make that all the more worrying. Saric is atleast another season away. Noel is a good player and Okafor is nice but they will suck again this year and IF Embiid doesn't turn into another Greg Oden then how do they fit him in with Noel and Okafor? This super tank is just getting ridiculous.

Are you saying Luol Deng isnt giving them value and Winslow is better? doubtful.

Boogey Cousins or DMA.

Although my bet for Aldrigde is the Spurs & Vivek aint letting Cousins go so I think Lakers have lucked out, unless you consider Kevin Love a big man and he for some crazy reason decides to leave Cleveland... :)

I predict Philly to tank again this season and target a 4th Centre pick next year.....they're planning to revolutionise the league and play a team with 4 C's and a PG....

I have no idea what philly is doing, surely they'll have some trades coming up, very unbalanced roster

Step 1. Tank for high picks
Step 2. Draft Centres
Step 3. ??????
Step 4. Profit

Good pick up for Miami, just need to keep their key pieces together and healthy and they will be competitive.

The plan was to pick Russell. We own the Lakers pick next year(with only top 2 protection I think). The Lakers needed a PG and a C. The Lakers would of known we didn't really want Okafor. I have no doubts the Lakers would have tried get their pick back for next year to trade down to 3 and give us Russell for Okafor and their pick back. I'm sure LA is happy to keep Russell but there has to of been some funny business between us and the Lakers.

Philly has taken the BPA. Embiid might not even return and if he does he might have to be a guy who can't play big minutes. Embiid fits with Okafor and he fits with Noel. Noel fits with Okafor also. Ideally we get all 3 guys fit and get to work out who we keep over the next few years or play them 32 mpg each and have a hell of a monster in the front court. The issue as a fan is we can't invest into one of the guys because one will have to go.

If LA, NY or any other team takes Okafor it is a great pick. I still think it is a great pick, especially as he would of been a Knick dropping 20-10 on us for years in our division if we didn't take him. You don't pick Mudiay because we need a PG, Okafor is a better prospect. We can sign a PG or make a trade for one. I'm upset we didn't get Russell but anything other than Okafor would of been a bad move. If Embiid was fit who knows what we do but if Embiid doesn't get fit and we pass on Okafor? GEEEEZ

Our issue is we have taken arguably the 3 best prospects of the last drafts who all play the same position. It only becomes an issue if Embiid makes a healthy return and even then get the pick of keeping 2 of the best big men prospects of the past 3 drafts with picks 3, 3 and 6.

We have 4 1st round picks next year (ours, la, heat and okc) next season was always going to be apart of the rebuilding process and we have max FA space. What does shit me is we didn't select a PG in the second round where we had 5 picks.

I know I'm saying the obvious, but FMD, tanked a whole season only to pick Noel and have him sit the year. Tanked another season only to pick Embid who sat out this year, and possibly next. Tanked another straight year to get Okafor, rendering the last two tanks questionable, and probably tanking a fourth season straight to get picks for a weak class in 2016.....

f**k I would miserable if I was a Philly fan.

One thing you will have in your favour though, most of 2016 prospects look like Poward Forwards ie NO CENTRES in the mix (yet).

We didn't tank to get Noel. We traded Jrue for the 6th pick (and the 10th pick the next year) and walked out with Noel and our 11th pick(MCW). We traded MCW for the Lakers pick.

Guys like spencer hawes, Evan turner etc were moved on because they had no future with us. I totally agree with every move that has been made bar Saric.

I'd rather we built through the draft than be the treadmill team we have been since 2001.

a weak class per what I heard on NBA tv.

ESPN are saying the same thing so there must be some truth to it.

Yeah if you are going to make obvious tank moves for multiple seasons then you would expect there to be some light at the end of the tunnel but there still isn't. They have added a couple nice pieces but they have no franchise player(banking on the injured 7 footer is looking like a bad move now). They will tank again this year and possibly next? Like when do they start trying to win games?

I'm not sure what Philly were up to drafting so many bigs, it was stange, yes Joel Embiid could miss more time, free agency and a trade or two I guess. Tony Wroten could be a very handy fantasy player this season.

I do like what I've seen from Jahlil Okafor though.

I'm not buying the talk of 2016 being a down year. Plenty of talk that apart from our own Ben Simmons (who is better then anyone in the past 3 drafts at least) there is no franchise type talent.

By the end of the college season I think well be seeing a very strong draft, particularly the first 5-6 picks. Players to follow this year are

- Skal Labisierre 6" 11, mixes great athleticism with a textbook jump shot. Reminds me of a super athletic Dirk.
- Jamal Murray 6" 4" Kentucky. Tremendous scorer in a variety of ways.
- Jaylen Brown 6" 7" California
- Dragan Bender 6" 11 Croatia. Hyped as maybe the best Euro since Dirk and Pau
-Brandon Ingram 6" 9 Duke (7" 4 wingspan) Doesn't turn 18 till September but drawing comparisons to KD due to looks and style. Will be big time one day
