Go Cairns. Can't see us getting past Adelaide though.

Kings will win as usual

I actually think the Kings will be very lucky to win it this season. The reason I think that is they rely too much on the 3 point game. If we don't get our shots to fall then thats it goodbye because without Rolan Roberts we have no inside game at all. Barlow tries to play an inside game which I beleive he does quite well but it just aint enough.

The most successful franchise in the history of the NBL..................the Perth WILDCATS!!!

STRIVE FOR FIVE!!!

I pick the Melbourne Tigers.

Kings may struggle for reasons suggested by others.

Bullets and Hawks are hit by injury and will struggle (although the Bullets seem to be going OK tonight).

The others are making up numbers in my opinion.
Perth are very average.

Well the Bullets just lost a see sawing game against the Wildcats so thewy are gone.
Wildcats play Wollongong in Wollongong on Friday night in another elimination final.

I'm sorry but making the top eight of an eleven team comp isn't much of an achievement.

The NBL only do it for the money. If it were up to be I would have a top 6.

Despite the over-inflated number of teams, it's actually a fairly fair system (if I can use such a phrase), with the top two teams the only teams that will not be eliminated after losing one game. Whilst I wouldn't dare suggest it for the NRL, it seems to work for the NBL, even if lightweights such as the Pirates can make the finals.

Go Taaaaaaaaaaaaaaaipans!

It was the first since the Top 8 came in that a team 7th or 8th won their first round.

Friday 10 February
Wollongong Hawks (3rd) vs. Perth Wildcats @ Wollongong Entertainment Centre
Local tip-off: 7.40pm

Saturday 11 February
Adelaide 36ers (4th) vs.
Cairns Taipans @ Distinctive Homes Dome – Adelaide
Local tip-off: 7.10pm

Looks like the Hunter Pirates have been eliminated from the NBL in more ways than one, with debts of $900,000; they are unlikely to be in the 06-07 comp.

As Madcat has already posted, the Wildcats will play the Hawks tonight, whilst the Taipans travel to Adelaide to play the 36ers tomorrow night.

Melbourne will play the winner of Wollongong/Perth in the semis, whilst the Kings will play the winner of Adelaide/Cairns.

My tips: Wollongong, Cairns

Perth are on their way to meet Melbourne, currently leading 121-101 with 30 seconds left. Wollongong, who finished third, are out after losing one game.

They need to have at least a 3 game series for each round

Cairns trailing by 7, midway through the third quarter. Looks like we may exit the comp at the same stage as in 2004....the second elimination final, although last time we were well and truly thumped by the Razorbacks.

C'mon Caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaairns
