Difficult without playing for his country though.

Has anyone won it without doing so?

Nuh. Make it hard.

Brett Kenny won in 1985 from Wigan in a year when he didnt play for Australia. He’d be closest but he did play before and after that year for the Roos

Unfortunately for St Helens, all Benny has to do is walk into the bosses office and tell him he's homesick.

Titans and Cowboys want him just as much as us.
Got to hope Ben has sentimental value towards us.

Well he wont be leaving st helens for the tits.

The UK know their place.
Its where old players go to die.

Or guys like ben and carney do penance for a time.

A - league soccer clubs let contracted players go overseas as you dont stand in a player's way to play in a stronger comp.

But st helens will want financial compensation so they dont look a patsie.

More jizzy goodness

THE SMART MONEY IS ON BEN BARBA'S RETURN

Talks between Cronulla and Ben Barba continue to bubble along.

The Sharks are publicly claiming they will not entice Barba to break his contract for next season with English club, St Helens.

But there appears little doubt Barba wants to come home to Cronulla.

And the Sharks want him back.

I’ll be having a cheeky $5 on Barba running out for the season opener at Shark Park next season.
