Sea Eagles Press Release - David Perry to be new COO
5/05/2011 7:31:51 PM
The Manly Sea Eagles have appointed a former junior coach of the Clubs star young international five eighth Kieran Foran and current Executive Manager - Partnerships at St George Illawarra as the Clubs new Chief Operating Officer. David Perry, 41, has resigned from the Dragons to take up the position at Manly.
He will commence his new role on June 14. Perry will work initially with outgoing Sea Eagles CEO Graham Lowe who is standing down from the position due to ill health.
Manly Chairman Scott Penn said David will bring a wealth of experience in sales and marketing to the club. He has achieved excellent results in his three years at St George Illawarra as team leader of the clubs successful commercial sales team. His commercial ability on top of a lifelong involvement as a player, coach and more recently as a senior executive in rugby league gives him the ideal background for a vital management role at the Sea Eagles, Penn said.
Perry said he was looking forward to working with such a successful club. I have played league in the Manly A Grade competition and know what the Sea Eagles mean to the people of the peninsula.
It is an iconic brand in the game and Im excited to be joining the club at a period where the future looks very bright. The club has been a permanent fixture in finals football under coach Des Hasler and I look forward to that continuing, Perry said.
David Perry and his wife Ann-Maree have two daughters, Claudia (7) and Aimee (4).
