New Held Up Rule

What does everyone think of the rule change "Held up over the line?" I reckon it's much better that the play goes back 10 metres and the tackle count continues from where it was, before, the defending team got no credit for a strong defensive effort in keeping the attacking side scoreless, and in fact were penalised for doing it, in that the attacking side virtually got another six shots at them. Much fairer rule I think. Saw it in action in the Knights/Penrith game, and that only confirmed my first thoughts, I have always thought the old rule was a bit of an anomaly.

I think there was other rules that needed to be changed more than that. e.g Forward passes need to be aloud to be ruled on by the video ref.

I didn't have a problem with the way it was.

Only problem for me being the loss of momentum and the chance for the defending team to reshape. I'd say it's a negative move in respect of tries being scored but as Antonius says, a boost for the defending side. I'm happy to give it a go.

Yeah great rule.

We'll see less "cheap" tries due to tired defences because of it.

Yes, I like it.
Good on line defense is draining and should be rewarded, to hold up in goal then face another full set of six was just too in favour of the attacking team IMO.

Yes good idea.

It was making it too easy for the attacking side.

We mightn't see the blowout scores we have in the past now.
