New kidney needed for Jonah Lomu

It's always sad when a one time great sporting champion is struck with a life changing incident as Jonah Lomu was a few years back now, and sadly, it seems to be haunting him in recent times.

I wish the great Kiwi star a speedy recovery and hope his dream of playing RU again one day is fullfilled. Soon.

Jonah Lomu faces life in a wheelchair if he does not get a kidney transplant, the former All Black said yesterday.

It was bad enough losing Joeli Vidiri to the same disease, Lomu was to a large degree the face of rugby. In the UK this is apparently a huge story & one English journalist said on the radio today that Lomu attracts more interest than the English rugby side combined, Wilkinson included.

Its really sad, & sport aside, I wish Jonah well. Theres no reason he cant live a normal, happy life after he's had the surgery.

From what I understand, the chances of him playing again are extremely slim, basically because the new kidney is placed in an area that leaves it much more prone to damage from physical contact. Plus there is a shortage of organ donors, so it could take years before he could have the operation.

If people are lining up, and I hope they are, I can only hope that they will donate to any matching person needing a transplant, not just Jonah.

Here's hoping and praying that Jonah and all in his situation get the help thay need.
