OK, I know there's a few Zep fans here that may be able to answer this question for me, why is it that they have released another best off when they already had one some years back?

The reason why every big artist these days has about 500 different best of albums, it's called money.

obviously, so i take it there's nothing unique about this release other than songs are probably in a different order to the best off that i have at home???

Remasters has probablt every Led Zep song you could need anyway. Certainly the 4-CD version does.

How many Best ofs does Aerosmith have by the way? Must be closing in on double figures

Looks like the selling point is the DVD, but no real details on it.
Doubt the DVD could top the DVD set released a few years ago.

Remasters+Led Zep live DVD set is probably all that's needed for the casual fan.

I've got all those songs...

you would of thought that Plant/Page/Jones and Bonehm Junior would of got together in the studio and wrote half a dozen songs or re-recorded a couple of classics.

If they did that, they would blow the pop crap off the charts for weeks.

offcourse they would..but I guess if they ask them the question they'll belt out the old, "we're no longer a band without John" excuse

Remasters (I had it on 6xLPs!) and the DVD from a few years back are indeed the prime artefacts. Can't imagine the DVD with the new set will have much more worth getting excited about?

That "new" best of looks a lot like the budget Early Days/Latter Days collection as well (differences between the two in bold):
  1. "Good Times, Bad Times" (Bonham/Jones/Page) – 2:48
  2. "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" (Bredon/Page/Plant) – 6:41
  3. "Dazed and Confused" (Page) – 6:27
  4. "Communication Breakdown" (Bonham/Jones/Page) – 2:29
  5. "Whole Lotta Love" (Bonham/Dixon/Jones/Page/Plant) – 5:34
  6. "What Is and What Should Never Be" (Page/Plant)– 4:44
  7. "Immigrant Song" (Page/Plant) – 2:25
  8. "Since I've Been Loving You" (Page/Plant/Jones) – 7:24
  9. "Black Dog" (Page/Plant/Jones) – 4:54
  10. "Rock and Roll" (Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham) – 3:41
  11. "The Battle of Evermore" (Page/Plant) – 5:52
  12. "When the Levee Breaks" (Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham/Memphis Minnie) – 7:08
  13. "Stairway to Heaven" (Page/Plant) – 8:02
  1. "The Song Remains the Same" (Page/Plant) – 5:28
  2. "No Quarter" (Page/Plant/Jones) – 6:59
  3. "Houses of the Holy" (Page/Plant) – 4:01
  4. "Trampled Under Foot" (Page/Plant/Jones) – 5:35
  5. "Kashmir" (Page/Plant/Bonham) – 8:31
  6. "Ten Years Gone" (Page/Plant) – 6:31
  7. "Achilles Last Stand" (Page/Plant) – 10:22
  8. "Nobody's Fault but Mine" (Page/Plant) – 6:27
  9. "All My Love" (Jones/Plant) – 5:53
  10. "In the Evening" (Jones/Page/Plant) – 6:49
Has any tour been confirmed yet, or still just that one off tribute gig that got delayed because of Jimmy's finger?

And the 4-CD set of Remasters - the proper one - had those two songs plus heaps of others.

So, really, there's not much point in this one

I think they should of done what the Oils did a couple of years back after they had released best off, if they want to make more money out of it and without insulting their fans they release an album of partly live tracks, a couple of newies and 1 ot 2 tracks that have been re-mixed and re-recorded.

I'm a fan of the Zeps but what they did was downright embarresing..

and for a minute I actually that it was a new album with NEW tracks I can only imagine my own reaction if I unknowingly bought the album walked out of the shop than looked at the tracklist.
