Quantam are not taking up their option for next season, looks like Centrebet will be stepping in.

SPONSORSHIP of one of the most successful rugby league clubs of the past 40 years is again up for sale with a betting agent ready to step in as the Sea Eagles’ major sponsor for the next three seasons.
The Manly Warringah Sea Eagles are shopping around for a major sponsor after Quantum elected not to continue their deal into 2011.
The Manly Daily understands all current sponsors have been approached to take over from the water solutions company.
Even Delmege Residential, owned by Sea Eagles co-owner Max Delmege, could be enticed back to the club as a major sponsor.
“There would be nothing better than being back on that jersey,” Delmege told the Daily on Monday.
“I still think it’s the best value-for-money deal you can get for your dollar.”
The Sea Eagles have also approached current gold sponsors, Centrebet, to link with the club as a front and back jersey sponsor.
The betting agent has already come on board as a second-tier sponsor for the next three seasons, valued at about $600,000.
Centrebet spokesman Neil Evans confirmed his employer is locked in negotiatons to upgrade their arrangement to a major sponsorship.
“That could well happen,” he said.
“We are in full-steam negotiations right now.”
Under NRL rules, clubs are not permitted to sign betting agents as naming rights’ sponsors as the governing body has their own $1 million per annum arrangement with Tabcorp.
NRL Chief Operating Officer Graham Annesley said the Sea Eagles can engage Centrebet as a major sponsor, as long as the deal does not include naming rights.
“In all cases where a club enters into a sponsorship arrangement, it must be pre-approved by the NRL, just to make sure everything is in order,” Annesley said.
Two years ago, a betting agent was prevented from sponsoring the Sea Eagles as the NRL claimed it conflicted with their own arrangement.
“They can have branding on the playing strip, but they can’t as part of the naming rights,” Annesley confirmed on Monday.

Anything but Delmege will be aces.

This doesn't say much for Lowes ability as a ceo though, nor his chances of staying in the job longterm. AAA rdiators, being another example.

CALL it desperation or inspiration but Manly has offered a reward to any supporter who can lure a major sponsor to the club for next season.

The advertisement, placed on its website on Monday, encourages fans to use popular social networking websites like Twitter in its quest to bring home the bacon for the Sea Eagles as the club has lost its major sponsor for next season.

"The Manly Sea Eagles are searching for a new major sponsor for 2011 and beyond and want to use the contacts and networking skills from the maroon and white army who post and tweet on anything Manly," the thread said.

"Here is a chance to earn some much needed extra dollars by earning a healthy commission on an introduction or lead that takes the club to a major sponsor.

"Being on the front of the Sea Eagles jersey in the prestigious NRL premiership is the chance of a lifetime for a company that wants to grow or a big company that wants to get bigger.

"History shows the Sea Eagles win a premiership at least once every decade.

"The time is right to come on board for the ride of a lifetime. Go sell your club"

Manly chairman Scott Penn said yesterday that major sponsor Quantum Eco Hot Water had chosen not to take up an option for 2011. He described the idea to post a thread on the website as innovative and said he was confident the 2008 premier would have no trouble finding a major supporter.

The club certainly has no shortage of sponsors lining up. National betting agency Centrebet has taken the back of jersey sponsorship.

"We're looking at all avenues and looking within the family if you like," Penn said. "We've got a big supporter base and a big fan base and I think it's fair to say that many sponsors of clubs come through the extended family.

"Word of mouth is critical and there's numerous devices to do it -- Facebook, Twitter -- all the social media is the best way and extends the reach.

"It's absolutely a smart move and I think we've got almost 20,000 fans on our Facebook page so why wouldn't we use them?"

Centrebet on the back, I guess replacing Penn?

STILL on those all important sponsors, the Sea Eagles are still negotiating to find a major backer for the 2011 NRL season.

The club is deep in talks with several interested parties, but nothing is secured yet for the year ahead.

It appears they may just head into the new year without a major sponsor, which would be a shame for the strongly supported club.
