It would need a huge amount of money but a true national competition could naturally form out of areas that need a league presence. A competition comprising Gold Coast, Central Coast, Wellington, Adelaide, Perth, Pacific Islands is possible if a TV network, other than Nine or Fox, were to get involved. Messrs Singleton, Stokes, any interest?

hmm... travel to the pacific islands will be such a hassle for these clubs...

i dont think the NRL will be looking at expanding teams to Perth, Adelaide or even the Pacifics whereas we might as well get rid of the Jim Beam Cup, QLD Cup and the Bartercard cup to meet its demand on players and coaches...

And I also think its going to waste the NRL's money on these teams if they dont perform as they should as we have seen from the 1995...

The only successful club has to be Melbourne due to their 1999 premiership win while cowboys and warriors havent achieved anything yet other than the 2002 minor premiership...

In this case, I wouldn't gauge success on the premiership wins, especially that one (I still have my doubts...). Success for expansion clubs has to be based on consistency and sustainability over time.

I think Cowboys are doing good (look at their crowds, even when they aren't near the 8), and Warriors were doing OK (but I don't know what the fallout of this strange season for them will be?). Melbourne... needs more work to be considered a success yet. By 2011 - hopefully - they'll be either properly established or
