Very interesting. 12 years is some committment. The betting and online tv production is interesting.

Super League Europe and the Rugby Football League (RFL) today announce a 12-year strategic partnership with IMG, a global leader in sports, events, media and fashion owned by Endeavor, to reimagine Rugby League and its competitions in the UK. The agreement follows the recent decision for the RFL and Super League to realign and form a new joint venture company.

IMG has assembled a team of experts across its Media business and the Endeavor network to work with the newly combined entity on strategically repositioning the sport to maximise its commercial potential for long-term growth, build deeper relationships with fans and attract new audiences.

The agency will initially focus on competition restructuring, content production and innovation, domestic and international distribution of media rights, digital transformation powered by IMG’s digital sports arm Seven League, brand strategy delivered by Endeavor’s cultural marketing agency 160over90, and streaming through Endeavor’s OTT platform Endeavor Streaming.

As part of a second phase of work, IMG will also provide data collection and data-driven product development, including sports betting products and streaming rights via its sports data and technology business IMG ARENA.

Lets hope that British Rugby League takes full advantage of this partnership.

I'd keep Toulouse then have a license bid process for two spots to go to a 14 team comp. London finally has a decent stadium they can call home and start to behind a fanbase again and so would hope they would get a spot. Then after that York maybe or would love to see a decent consortium get behind a Wales team. So much potential in Wales I feel.

Newcastle no history in the game
Bradford, odsal was out of date 20 years ago, it hasnt got any better so would need somewhere to play though they do have a record for good support
York possibly but a pretty small city that is more of a union demographic than League. Would get good travelling numbers though visiting them

Gateshead ring a bell ?
Rugby league in England isn’t big enough to exclude a club like Bradford

it would be like the nrl allowing the broncos to fail

Newcastle isn't Gateshead lol
It is staggering what happened to Bulls. Would make a good documentary! I was bulls fan and regularly went to Odsal as was at Uni in Bradford in 97, really thought that was going to be what British RL would be like, its amazing how quickly it fell apart.

I’ve been to odsal.

Bradford is all down to bad management

Newcastle with those rich owners and the union side struggling and the success of Gateshead would be good expansion

A good start would be to drop SuperLeague and work with the ARLC to create a cross competition brand. NRL doesn't really describe the comp here very well and SL is past its sell by date. Maybe something like the RLA Premiership and RLE Premiership with same branding for main comps? You could then have a second tier brand commonality for next level down comps in other countries like RLPNG Championship, RLF Championship, RLNZ Championship etc.

A bit about the company

IMG distributes over 32,000 hours of content—originating from more than 200 clients and events—to major global broadcasters annually, across all forms of media including TV, audio, fixed media, inflight and closed circuit, broadband and mobile. The company’s multimedia product offering includes production of all Channel 4 Racing broadcasts, the inCycle and Golfing World shows, while IMG also produces and distributes Sport 24,[12] the first ever live global premium 24-hour sports channel for the airline and cruise industries, and Edge Sport HD, the 24-hour premium action sports channel. It maintains the world’s largest sports archive with more than 250,000 hours of footage and operates joint ventures with the UEFA Champions League and the Super Cup (clubs) and the Euros (national teams) (UEFA), Premier League (Premier League Productions), European Tour (European Tour Productions), Globo TV Sports (Brazilian League Productions), Associated Press (SNTV) and Asian Tour (Asian Tour Media).

In 2015, IMG and Euroleague Basketball agreed on a 10-year joint venture. Together they will manage the commercial operation, and management of all global rights covering both media and marketing of the EuroLeague (the premier competition for European professional men's basketball clubs) and its 2nd-tier competition, the EuroCup.[15]

The rfl used img before I think to get a pretty good tv deal for super league. Or maybe it was a World Cup. But I’m pretty sure they have had good dealings before
