Pearl Jam today revealed that its long-awaited new album is called "Lightning Bolt" and that it will arrive on October 15 in the U.S. (October 14 internationally). The band also announced and released lead single "Mind Your Manners," which is available for download on PearlJam.com today (July 11) and is now playing on the radio.

The Brendan O'Brien produced "Lightning Bolt," for which a full tracklist has not yet been divulged, can be pre-ordered on PearlJam.com and iTunes beginning today. News of the album came as a second countdown clock on the band's site hit zero hour today, and follows an extensive North American fall tour announcement earlier this week. PJ had been working on "Lightning Bolt," its 10th studio effort, off and on since 2011. In May, guitarist Stone Gossard told Billboard the album was "sounding great. I think people are going to be excited about it." It is the band's first album since 2009's "Backspacer," a No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Kicking off the slate of new music, "Mind Your Manners" is a hard, fast rocker in the vein of Pearl Jam's "Spin the Black Circle" (1994) and "Comatose" (2006). On "Manners," Eddie Vedder's muscular vocals lead a guitar-drum-bass workout. An instrumental portion of the song, which was also teased uncredited in the band's tour announcement video earlier this week, plays throughout an official album announcement clip posted to YouTube today that shows the band in the studio.
As previously reported, the Seattle group's North American arena tour in support of "Lightning Bolt" runs from October 11 through December 6.
Before the new album arrives, Pearl Jam will play at Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 19 after a smaller show at London, Ontario's Budweiser Gardens on July 19. The two concerts, both billed as "An Evening with Pearl Jam" sans opening acts, are completely sold out.

Having just announced a North American tour, which begins on July 16, the grunge legends are looking good for Australia.
"Pearl Jam is back on the tour radar for early next year," said Triple M Music reporter Nui Te Koha.
"There are several promoters trying to lure them down here. I dare say they will be very successful. Pearl Jam love it down here,"
The new single by Pearl Jam called "Mind Your Manners" will be played here first on Triple M on Friday.
Sources who have claimed to have heard the song describe it as "punk" and a lot like their 1994 hit "Spin The Black Circle".
The album, which will be their tenth one, is scheduled for an October release. Pearl Jam's Mike McCready describing it as pretty amazing.
"I think there’s a little bit more experimental stuff going on. There’s a Pink Floyd vibe to some of it, there’s a punk rock edge to other stuff," he said.

They will tour for sure. Last tour was great, Eddie had the flu in Sydney but battled through, cut the encore short though. 40 odd degree day inside the SFS, a lot of Calippos were consumed.

I have that concert as a bootleg from the PJ site. At the concert you couldnt really tell how hard he was suffering. Listening to it now, he sounds terrible. Unable to hit most notes, and basically struggling through the songs.

The good thing about it was that I got to hear Mankind in the flesh.

Amazing concert, but still not as good as the Newcastle one in '06.

Keen for them to announce the tour.

I was right up front and could see him going off stage regularly to cough up a lung or two, he was struggling a lot. Eddie coming out to do Under Pressure with Harper was f**king awesome, still get all goosebumpy remembering that.

Didn't Stone end up singing Mankind?

I liked the new song though it was quiet good.

Does anyone know when they will be re-mastering No Code?

Also does anyone know if Matt Cameron is pulling a double duty for both SG & PJ?

Pretty excited. I love the new song.

The tour will be epic. Don't think I'll ever be able to top the Vitalogy tour Eastern Creek with the Meanies. Although 03 and 06 were special because I got to see them 3 times both tours.
