Gal will overcall the lot of 'em.

They'll struggle until he retires and gives them the team.

I understand why you would say that but wonder if it is a current problem? I know Ennis and Maloney had some say on the field and are gone, but Brailey and Chad are older and wiser since then,Moylan was a captain and stood his ground to point of getting out of Panthers. I think He will be no pushover.(also friend of Wade?) Holmes has a succesful world cup campaign and experience of playing with Slater etc...
Gal has a premeirship under his belt and just about all the kudos the Sharks and the game can offer so dont know he will be so driven to do it ALL himself anymore. I know I dont mind handing over a bit of responsibility at my age! And I think any coach worth his salt would be working on this if it was a problem. Its last chance for another premiership for Gal so personal stats would surely take a back seat to that. .

Inside the oppositions 10 he needs to be a decoy runner and not a link man. Other than that he lets the boys do their thing. Its not a one man team anymore and he plays that way, its much better.

Edit: referring to the Gal talk ^^^ not Pearce.

Hes a good club player. Would have made us real challengers. Now we are looking at a guy with no knees.
Reckon we'll find that by seasons end that Flanno will have played more games than Hodgkinson. Probably not initially but injuries and origin will be his friend.

Another goal kicker on the squad is not a bad move. Worry that he was so off the radar at Newcastle tho.. Bit of a Daniel Holdsworrh signing...

We seem to all think that Kyle is the second coming of JT or Cronk.

Is he actually going to be any good or is he going to just be another guy who scored lots of points but couldn’t step up.

I’m not to enamoured with the hodkinson signing, but if it’s as insurance for the day we pull the pin on the Holmes fullback experiment, then maybe it’s ok.
It took chad a few years to become a first grade halfback. Kyle might take just as long.

I might be on my own but I'm happy to give Flanno first shot next year....plenty doubted Braileys chances last year too but he surprised many along the way.

Having an experienced back up half will help, if it allows us then to give Flanno some games off during season, need him fresh in finals not burnt out

I'm not so sure I agree guys.

I thought he was a bit of a hindrance last season. Yeah maybe they're a bit older but you've got to remember a lot of these kids look up to him as a mentor. If he wants the ball, give him the ball... and he always wants the ball. He's got to keep those fantasy points up. He's too competitive not to.

He absolutely should not be the guy participating in the storms outside inside ball to Val (or whoever the fullback is) as he is too slow and so obvious when he's about to do it. Just puts a big target on whoever the receiver is... Yet he's always the one calling that play.

And just to point on how hungry he is for stats & records, I reckon he'll try and go around another year, just so that he can pass ET's most games played for the Sharkies.

I hope you are wrong, but if not, that gives the coach a bit of leverage. Eg....... Private meeting--video session--- heart to heart... You want to go around next year, and get the most games record?...well these things better not happen this year, then.

This I definitely agree with you on, Its a very good move if done at speed. E.g. Maloney to Wade inside to Barba got us a tonne of line breaks and a few tries.
As opposed to a pass out to Gal then inside to Holmes... leaves us with a corpse on the field.
I guess that explains why Flange has fifteen fullbacks in the squad.

How many games does Gal need to break ET's record?
