Agree with all this but curious as to what playing with Newie has to do with his goal kicking percentage? Do Newie only score tries in the corner?156 games worth of experience for Pissflap jnr, Jacky Williams any other young halfs and even Mythlan and Coiffee who would be junior to him as far as halfback experience. 78% goalkicker, not that shabby considering that record includes his years at Newie. Great short kicking game. Good passer both sides.
The last few years has proven we have superrb injury management as well. So what if he has a chronic knee. It will be managed and he will have passed medical exams wherever he signs.
I think he’s been looked at for what’s in his head, not whats left in his legs.
Whole side was woeful from round 25....think they thought they were a shoe-in.i cannot see what all the jnr fuss is about to be honest. His finals were woeful.

Yp, and sounds like a real decent person so likely a great mentor.156 games worth of experience for Pissflap jnr, Jacky Williams any other young halfs and even Mythlan and Coiffee who would be junior to him as far as halfback experience. 78% goalkicker, not that shabby considering that record includes his years at Newie. If w're relying on Holmes to win us games with his kicking on a consistent basis we're in trouble imo.Yes, because they had no penetration through the middle etc etc.
However his goalkicking at Newie was actually OK on closer look. 83 & 80%. It was in 2015 at the Dogs he only got 66% playing on one leg and got a dislocated wrist. Thats dragged his overall percentage down.
Holmes is only at 71% in the NRL for the record. Will probably get the job but needs to lift that.
The best kickers are the ones who kick at least 100 in game attempts per year consistently. If w're relying on Holmes to win us games with his kicking on a consistent basis we're in trouble imo.
I would not be surprised to see Doogs take the kicking over. Chad would be a shot too. Then there;s Hodgo too.

That ends that short discussion.
