WITH the Manly Sea Eagles at the top of the table after 10 rounds of the NRL premiership they now have a gear van in keeping with their lofty position on the competition ladder.
Manly took possession of a new $50,000 Mercedes-Benz van yesterday courtesy of the club's new sponsor G Brothers of Mona Vale.
And after years of driving around in a mobile wreck, head trainer Alex Ross and his travelling sidekick Greg Alexander are cheering.
In a day they have gone from being in charge of the biggest lemon of the 16 clubs to the pride of the off-field fleet.
Ross and Alexander were doing laps of the club's training headquarters at the Sydney Academy of Sport yesterday showing off their new chariot.
``I have always wanted to drive a Mercedes,'' Alex Ross quipped.
``And it's in keeping with where the club is headed,'' he added.
The Mercedes-Benz has been fully dressed up with Sea Eagles branding including massive Eagles on the side and an enormous logo on the back that almost goes from roof to bumper. The Sea Eagles livery looks FANTASTIC.
Steve Menzies on the right was eyeing off some very sexy convertible Mercs.
