It won’t be Ipswich dolphins crowds are still too low for another side in Brisbane in the short term

Will probably be discussed with sky nz in the pricing tv deal and announced in the next few years for 2030 to 2032

Once Pvl goes over to watch the game this year in the new stadium talk will heat up

It’s not on the nrl radar till the tv deal is done and even then they need to sort out the salary cap and club funding and that takes time

Wouldn’t it be part of tv deal discussions if they are going to come in during the deal, especially if nrl go with a longer deal like 7 years? Wouldn’t tv want to know if they are getting an extra game a round for some of the Contract?

There shouldn't be another team in SEQ until Dolphins are averaging 30-35k.

If NZ wins the WC this year or if NZ makes the final and Australia doesn't, the NRL would be insane not to create a 3-game origin style series between Australia vs New Zealand. ANZAC Origin. To me that's the first step before NZ2.

I'd rather see NZ have their own origin "Island of Origin" North Island V South Island "Bro against Bro"

If Boyd keeps this form when Metcalf comes back Warriors could really cause some damage

Especially with the new six man bench can carry cht up their sleeves and only play him if they need too

Great to see the team go on with it in the 2nd half.

I was kinda worried against the Raiders when it got to 18-6, thinking the attitude would be just to hold the 12-points rather than pile-on more.

Absolutely crushing it at the back-end like that looked kinda like what Penrith or Melbourne would do.. and it was really refreshing.
That’s been one of the more pleasing things last 2 weeks- put our foot on the throat last 10 mins with points rather than trying to protect a lead

It’s not really viable as an island v island format with the massive population disparity (80% vs 20%) not to mention the Auckland player base alone is like 95%+ of players. Can probably get a similar result with NZ 2, coming up with a fair split of players for an NZ origin is the tough part, the NZ born vs Aus born was probably the closest I’ve seen thrown around

PI's v Maori - the one or two Pakeha players can pick who they play for. 🤣

Nah it would be like afl origin ie Mickey Mouse

Warriors v Christchurch orcas would be a genuine derby

The soccer one is massive and soccer is tiny
It’s so blindingly obvious to the point it’s getting extremely annoying but I guess that’s the game PVL has to play in order to extract as much government funding as possible from those vying for a place in the competition.

Last played in... cough... 1995... and... cough... subsequently forgotten.

Australia vs New Zealand is the biggest waste of potential.

It should be played as a 3 games series every 4 years. It should be bigger than the Bledisloe and Origin.
It should never have been scrapped in the first place and it Ended at a time when NZRL was nowhere near the powerhouse that it is today.

i used to get up in the early hours to watch this series as a kid in the early 90’s in the UK and loved every minute of it even though the kiwis 9 times out of 10 lost and sometimes smashed.

Alongside a Tonga v Samoa tri series cough
With the winner of both to play a final..cough

Every year middle of season: Pacific Cup after State of Origin - 4 teams (Australia, New Zealand, top 2 Pacific islands teams) - 3 games each. Other Pacific teams play Pacific Bowl at the same time.

End of season:

Year 1: World Cup

Year 2: Australia vs New Zealand - 3 game series, Tonga vs Samoa - 3 game series

Year 3: Ashes - 3 game series, New Zealand vs Tonga or Samoa or PNG or Fiji etc - 3 game series

Year 4: Australia vs Tonga or Samoa or PNG or Fiji etc - 3 game series, New Zealand vs England - 3 game series

= $$$
