That way theyd be a national team

Warriors are playing 1 game per season in Christchurch for another 3 years.
Originally the Auckland Warriors if you keep that in perspective.

Basically they don’t really need to, although based in Auckland it’s the default team to support in all of NZ

Why should the players have to play 3/4 of their games away from home and family when none of the other teams do? Will make them an unattractive destination for players.

They'll get a team, it's just a matter of when. I don't buy the line that team 20 is off the table. We're in a race to get to 19..? Doesn't make sense.
Probably just want to get them hungry and up their game.
Warriors are playing a game there for the next 3 years and I think demand will only grow from here.

The only argument and a valid one for the delay is talent. Player market is going to be absolutely hectic the next few years.
If I'm Galvin, I'm knocking the Tigers back as well. Anyone any good should be holding back as long as possible...30 million dollars plus of additional player payments coming online!
