Well there lies the key.Thing is whilst they arent revenue generators per se (though I reckon the wheelchair RL would have done ok) They get Govts interested. Whilst the RLWC didnt make RFL any money in profits it lead to the UK govt giving $30million to grass roots RL. That needs to be factored in to "profitability" of tournaments.
Tonight's Warriors game is live, free-to-air on Three (aka TV3).
Another encouraging sign of the buzz over NRL at the moment. FTA live games have been severely lacking here for way too long.
And ironically wheelchair rl and women’s rl got a lot of media coverage especially wheelchair rl and on twitter in the last World Cup held in England.Nothing against WheelchWheelchair rl and Womens rl but if the financial implications of those will bring everything undone , than they need to be shelved until such time they become viable.
TBF, the FTA games were arranged and announced back in February. Thankfully, and uncharacteristically, the team has been good this year so can take advantage of the FTA games.Tonight's Warriors game is live, free-to-air on Three (aka TV3).

Main channel. Is the FTA channel they are on a main stream channel or a digital sub channel? Great to get Warriors on FTA either way at long last!
cheers, thats good, should get decent exposure nationally then. How many warriors games a year are they putting on FTA?Main channel.
TV3 was the first privately owned TV network in NZ. They have subchannels but I don't recall them using any of those for sport.
TVNZ (owner of TVNZ 1 & TVNZ 2 - the 2 heritage Government owned channels that date back to 1960 & 1975) - has a digital subchannel called 'TVNZ Duke' (male-skewed, basically) which reasonably often screens sport, usually the stuff they picked up from the now-defunct Spark Sport streaming service.
Any idea why the Warriors are not on Prime anymore?Main channel.

It looks like a prime tine to to bring in the second NZ club. Gonna be interesting how we handle expansion. I agree with the poster the other day who said they should announce the 3 new teams and timeline asap.
Please ANYONE but Brisbane 3 !!! Perth or NZ !!!Brisbane 3, NZ 2 and Perth are the only viable candidates.
Perth has probably earned the right to be the 18th team.

With sides already in NZ and Brisbane it would make the most sense. I think Pete is still east coast centric though. It's a great position for the game to be in.Brisbane 3, NZ 2 and Perth are the only viable candidates.

What a terrible idea that is. Lucky you are not a decision maker.West tigers and Cronulla sharks either relocating or dropping down to the NSW cup also frees up another 2 places potentially allowing 5 new teams/areas entering the NRL in a 20 team competition by 2030.
Yeah because the tigers and sharks are currently packing them in with their 21st century modern stadiums. What a terrible idea that is. Lucky you are not a decision maker.
I wouldn’t call Penrith or Brookie 21st century either and the Sharks are still hampered by reduced capacity due to the 21st century works taking place around the stadium and Tigers actually do alright at LO.Yeah because the tigers and sharks are currently packing them in with their 21st century modern stadiums.
Idiot call.... there is no number or no currency value on NRL licences... you don't need to cut off you're nose to get a boob job.... you make the competition stronger by expanding, not detracting and adding...West tigers and Cronulla sharks either relocating or dropping down to the NSW cup also frees up another 2 places potentially allowing 5 new teams/areas entering the NRL in a 20 team competition by 2030.
