Well it is with great pleasure that I have undertaken the role of coach of the Newtown Jets under 11's.
Let me tell you, there are some fine footballers running around Tempe Reserve.
After a few weeks of training last night the kids set about the task of learning what will be the basis of their attack pattern for the year. I can't go into too much detail but I assure you that these kids, everyone from the front row to fullback has ball skills to burn.
In the front row we have some big big boys, ready to rumble with the best of them. A combination of aussie grunt and pollynesian genetics has given me two of the strongest 11 year olds ive ever met.
In the back row we have experience. These kids have been together for 3 years and this is the year that all the hard work will pay off.
The backline. WoW!
We have a brilliant halves combination. ball skills, speed, agillity. Talented kids with vision. the best thing is...they pass the ball. No glory hogs.
The outside backs:

Seriously these kids are all good kids and look to be pretty sharp with the footy. We are all here to have some fun and so far are loving every minute of it. We are playing in an 8 a side tournament next weekend so I'll be sure to keep you up to date.
I'd like to thank Newtown for giving me yet another opportunity to share in the fun that is the Jets.
