Today saw the first round of the 2006 Southy Sydney a Grade Comp with the Mighty Newtown Jets taking on Paddington Tigers.
In a closely fought game it was moments of individual brilliance from fijian star Max Banivalu and NZ import Brooke that saw us over the line. Stand outs in the forwards where Anthony Johnson and the ever reliable Will.
Special thanks to Casey Green from JBC for playing an outstanding game in the front row and filling in with the a graders. He is to be commended for his no nonsense attitude and friendly approach to mixing it with the lads.
Something I noticed today during the game, another benefit I can add to the ever growing list of postives to come from A grades interaction with JBC and Premier league is that we all use the same calls for our plays off the ruck, allwoing blokes to step in and know what the hell is going on.
Basically what I'm saying is that if JBC need me, i know what they are doing
In all seriousness Paddo gave a good fight and played the full match. Desperation in defence and brilliance in attack saw us come away with the two points and at the end of the day, a Jets win is a good win.
