Thats right folks. This Sunday, 1:40pm Tempe Reserve sees the Jets host the uh..Jets!

The 2 sides entered in the 2nd Division comp will face off in what shapes up to be a classic encounter. Finally questions will be answered.

Will there be enough players for 2 teams?

Will anyone get needlessly injured in a pointless match against their team mates?

Will Newtown miss out on an opportunity to go to the top of the table as we rob ourselves of two points?

So come one, come all to Tempe Reserve this Sunday and catch the Newtown Jets in action as they take on The Newtown Jets.

Surely you can rig this so that you set some records that may never be broken in the SSDJRL...

for example:

Most points scored in a game Newtown Junior Jets - 200
Most Tries in a game - BTJ - 20
Most points in a game - BTJ - 100
etc...

maybe even just take turns at potting field goals for 80 mis - most field goals in a match Newtown Junior Jets ...

I was thinking of slotting the one pointer in our first foray into the opposition half...

...then again i'd need to learn how to kick field goals.

Well folks at the end of day the battle was fought and Newtown Jetws White defeated Newtown Jets Blue 50-28

It was a great game and a lot of fun to play in, hopefully the spectators enjoyed it too!

There were some great tries scored by both sides, a bit of friendly banter and great sportsmanship shown all round.

highlights include:

Brad Roach running 80m to score the ugliest try by a centre ever!

Yours truly kicking a goal for the wrong team (plus a couple tries and a goal for my own)

Watching the referee get hopelessly mixed up with the rules.

Listening to the calls from the sideline from Bluebag, Kingy and various other miscrients.
