NEWTOWN v CANTERBURY: Rescheduled for JUNE 27

The Bulldogs Premier League side have cemented top spot on the competition ladder following a 28-26 win at Henson Park this evening.

The fixture was scheduled to take place back in Round 13 however it was postponed due to the poor weather conditions. Although tonight was clear skies, the cold was enough to keep the crowd away.

Both sides lacked ball movement and rarely fed ball to the outside backs as the battle took place in the middle of the field. Tempers flared when opposing lock-forwards Adam Brideson and Mickey Paea brought back the biff.

Poor ball handling cost the Bulldogs a couple of tries and although the scoreboard showed a two-point winning margin in favour of the 'Dogs, the Jets were never really on top.

So close again, yet 4 points lost to the eels and the berries. Not good. Atleast we have a BYE this weekend.

Thought the boys played really well and the only difference was the goal kicking in the end. Considering that the 'dogs are top of the table and had the bye on the weekend, and we were backing up from a very tough game on Saturday, to lose by two points was a pretty good performance.

Few dodgy decisions from the ref left the crowd a bit confused me thinks.

With the bye this weekend, guess that means a trip to Ikea to waste the day away with the misses... :(
