Medical retirement would mean we have to take the hit and pay him, but he wouldn't count on the cap for future years, so we would be able to replace him in the squad (provided we have the funds to afford to).

Anyone who plays the game the way he does is at risk of concussions - todays' was an illegal, heavy hit direct to the melon, any player (apart from probably Gal) would have been sparked from that, so I don't think today is necessarily a sign of longer term issues.

The Roosters loss to Raiders will hurt them. We jumped them with the fake bye points but they now have storm, eels , panthers. They could go winless for a month and we “should” go bye, win,win,win and gap them by 10. But as you know… we are the sharks.

This stretch helps see what progress has been made. Are they still the Sharks of the past couple of years or can they make a run and position themselves for the finals? A lot depends on getting Finucane back and fit. He sets the standard and keeps them focused. But with 2 multiweek injuries already this season, it's a bit of a concern as to how much footy he will play.

Has there ever been a FG coach that has rejected his own team? He did say he doesnt want to stay in NZ "long term" which can be misinterpreted I guess but still.... He'll get the chop before we play em I reckon.
