Bit early. I know.

But who will it be? I honestly think Marnus.

Also appreciate if a poll could be added. It seems I cannot do so.

Head will be the logical replacement for Cummins in my opinioin, as he has been skipper of SA from a young age and Manus is yet to cement his permanent spot in the team.

I think Head is the only long term prospect in our batting line up for mine.

Agree with a bit of Head. But he won't be long term either, he's 31.

Cam Green potentially? Would need experience at it of course. There's something comforting about an all rounder as captain

Bolter would be Nathan McSweeney but he'd have to get back in the side obvs. His leadership is rated very highly and was part of the reason they threw him to the wolves against India.

A couple of assumptions for Marnus:

- He actually earns his place back in the team and becomes a 50 average test bat

- He grows up and stops acting weird (I think he has a bit, but no confirmation on toasties)

In any event he is 6 months age difference to Head. So those two would be short term options as captain.

If its youth it has to be Green.

I can imagine Manus talking half an hour to set his field and over thinking evey little aspect of the game, I reckon he'd drive the players nuts.

If he can make good shield runs and become a permanent member of the test side when he is 30
(currently 26yo)

Nathan McSweeney

Head and Cummins will be 35 and 36 by then

Head and Cummins are essentially the same age. Head makes sense if Cummins retires in the next 1-2 years.

Marnus is actually mentally deficient and I dont see how he could ever be considered.
