I like the idea.

Penrith was council owned. Now won't be so in most cases the land is gifted anyway. So not sure an extra tax for those councils is needed

That’s why places like Oakland don’t have a baseball or nfl team because they lose their teams to cities that can afford to fund a new stadium

Under your model the cowboys would’ve never gotten a new stadium funded given the size of the economy

Cities can afford to fund them, the citizens vote to or to not fund them though.

Even big markets in the US sometimes vote against these things.

And you its more financing costs that are being passed on, not the entire cost of the project.

It's a good idea, and even the concept of a local vote/ poll should be considered

Depends on the length but it doesn't seem much of an increase but that is to be expected for all the reasons listed in this thread.

For me. Adding PNG is better for the game but brings nothing for the Australian providers.

Seems we aren't getting the 10th game a round

Not bringing in Qtrs and being able to reduce the season are positives despite losing money is good for the game.

The shortfall hopefully comes with better internationals ( assuming PNG get to NZ, Tonga standard)
