I dont know what Riddell offers to the team at this stage.
He does offer some aggression but I think he has to earn his place in the team first. At the moment he is struggling to do that IMO.

the only time I've been mildly impressed by Riddell this year is when he comes off the bench against a tiring side as a running 2nd rower.

Riddell's 2nd stint on against the Dragons when he and Fui came on at the same time against a tiring Dragons pack was the best the Pig has played all year

when he came on in the back row against the Warriors, both he and Moi Moi were destructive

I thought Hayne looked more interested once moved to the centres, he looked totally uninterested for most of the game.......for someone who is waiting for his chance to impress and get a HUGE contract, today wasn't the best start.....pitty too, cause i was hoping he would show us how good he really is at fullback.......

I cant believe some of the comments made in relations to Hayne being dis-interested, he was barking orders at the back, putting players in position in defence. He made 2 tackles in the last 10 min that 1 dislodged the ball from Peachey and other in the last set of six before full time when souths were going to the right and we were short on numbers, I think it was Widders he wrapped up.

It was his 1st game and will only get better.

I can tell you now, a couple of the hit ups he made, he jogged it in, there was nothing, i was shocked, i know the guy can play and i am a big fan, i was just very dissapointed at his effort until he moved to the centres, he looked happier there, you mentioned the 2 takles, tell me what position he was playing when he made them?

Absolutely. I don't know what made Haynesy gun shy, but yesterdays effort compared to how he hit it up against the Tigers was chalk and cheese. All I can think off is that the Tigers forwards are much smaller and he was intimidated by Roy & Co. Jarryd needs to sit down and watch Karmichael Hunt to see how a kick return is properly executed. Hunt gobbles up the metres and hits the line hard.

as with newcastle last week, souths had a very good kick and chase. there was usually a wall in front of him.

our kick and chase still worries me.

Are you guys complaining? i mean if haynsey plays ok without setting the world on fire at fullback then clubs wont be to interested in him lol haha just give him time he'll be fine. He knows this is his time to shine

Did anyone hear Hages interview on the ABC after the game yesterday?

He was asked about fitting B Smith into the team next week and without answering he ended up rapping about 4 different players (mostly forwards) and the interviewer moved on to the next question... classic!!

Don't forget that a fullback has about 3 times the workload as a winger. He may have been a bit stuffed at a few points of the game.

I remeber that's what Luke Burt said on Foxsports when interview that was the biggest diff from FB and wing.
