Next Week's Team

Well we should have Beattie, Lomu, Merritt and Vagana back next week.
Which begs the question of who will make way for who.

For mine, Nutley gets punted in favour of Beattie.
Reece Williams or Bickerstaff for Lomu, Goldy for Vagana and keep Bails at left centre.

Merritt should probably come in for Simmo, but I think Simmo can count himself unlucky. He'll be back for more first grade in future.

That's really starting to look like a decent lineup.

10. Nutley

Bickerstaff didnt do enough for mine to keep his spot. Lomu has to go back into the starting side IMO as he is quality and will be better for the game time. An unlucky Simmo to make way for Merritt. Beattie to go from the bench as Nutley played too well against Canberra to be demoted.

No, I think Merrit should prove himself in Premier League. Simmo should not be dropped for his effort on Saturday night. His catches under the high ball were great.

Bails in the centres with Vagana I think I agree with that.

I think Merrit should be given a couple of games in Premier League to prove himself. Throwing him straight into first grade isn't right IMO...especially since Simmons has been playing so well, and Merrit did nothing to impress me against the Bulldogs.

Bailey has made me eat my words...he played pretty good against the Raiders doing what a first grade centre should be doing. Isemonger also threw egg on my face.

Bailey might as well stay in the centres thats where he plays each week anyway, (he always forget's he's a forward) although I think SR needs to look at Kent, Franze, Seers or any other centre in the lower grades to play along side Vagana. I'm still not sure Goldie is up to First Grad just yet.

Bickerstaff doesn't offer much IMO. He does a lot of defence but with Gallen and Nutley in the pack I don't see his value. Isemonger to come off the bench and hurt them, same with Beats and Williams. Gibbo there to keep the quick play the balls going when Sully comes off. Sully needs a chance to start.

Simmons I'd love in the team but if Merritt is fit and ready to play he should get the spot. I feel a Merritt, Vagana combo will run rings around the sideshow bob and co backs Parra have.

Its going to be a bloody hard call. For mine Simmo should not be dropped for Merritt who hasn't proven himself this year.

And what about Keith Galloway. He's been close to our best forward all year, yet for some reason was dropped. He killed them in reserve grade and deserves to go straight back up.

And one more question, who will play halfback if Kimmorley can't back up? Dallalana (who I don't rate) is out injured and didn't play yesterday. Aitken filled in at halfback and had his best game of the season. But Raper 2 weeks a go said Aitken is not ready.

A halves pairing of Sullivan and Hilder would have me very worried. The kicking game would be tragic.

The best kick on the park last night was Sully's. I'm more thinking of his long kicking, which actually isn't long. I'm more of the belief that last night he got lucky, I don't think his kicking game is particularly consistent.

And anyway he's too dynamic from dummy half. He give us great spark coming off the bench to play hooker.

I actually think he's got a good kicking game. His 40/20 attempt impressed me & ilike how he kicks whilst going forward. He gets good metres.
Still not near locky or Gower but with a consistent gig, maybe he could get the timing a bit better.

Sully will be 1/2 if BK is out.
Peachey will need to help with the downtowns.

1. D. Peachey
2. D. Simmons
3. N. Vagana
4. P. Bailey
5. M. Rieck
6. M. Sullivan
7. B. Kimmorley

8. J. Stevens
9. P. Gibson
10. D. Nutley
11. P. Gallen
12. A. Lomu
13. M. Hilder

14. C. Beattie
15. K. Galloway
16. J. Williams
17. D. Dumas

Although, I really like the idea of Hilder in the 9.

With the forwards starting to come together there's no need for Bailey in the second row anymore (although was there ever really?). If Sullivan can prove his consistency I would consider him for a starting position.

I would imagine that Merrit would be given a couple of weeks in the Premier League just for a touch up, and regardless of how he goes we thrown back into First Grade. No justice to Simmon's whose done an admirable job on the wing but we have to run with what's best.

i hate to admit but leave bailey in the centres - everyone has been guilty of bagging him and whilst he still thiks he is jesus he had a good game. Bickerstaff out, and the rest i dont know.
