just for the heck of it i thought i would keep track of the games between the two conferences.

last season fans of afc teams boasted about how much better their conference was than the nfc.

in the end the steelers needed the officials to hold their hands so they could beat the pitiful seagulls.

anyways, here is the result after week 1.

nfc - 3 wins - rams over broncos, eagles over texans, saints over browns
afc - 3 wins - ravens over bucs, jaguars over cowboys, colts over giants

Haha not this again.

Can we kick the Raiders out of the AFC? They're tarnishing our W/L record.

thanks for reminding me.

there was only one game this week and the nfc won it - redskins over texans.

that makes the record

nfc 4 vs 3 afc

there were 4 games this week.

the nfc won 2 games - cowboys over titans, redskins over jaguars
the afc had 2 wins - bills over vikings, chiefs over whiners

the nfc is getting the upper hand and have the best team in the league so far.

4 games played this week.

nfc won 3 - panthers over browns, bears over bills, whiners over raiders.
afc won 1 - chiefs over cardinals.

that makes the record

nfc 9 vs 6 afc

That is the most bizarre way of juding which is the better conference.

The Bears are easily the best team in the NFC followed by the Eagles but after that it's daylight to the rest.

The AFC have at least seven or eight contenders in Indy, Denver, Baltimore, Cincy, San Diego, New England and Jacksonville and I'd back Manning's offense against Urlachers defence.

The same Manning offense which just put up 14 points against Tennessee? Indy are looking less than stellar atm. Poor running game, ordinary defense...If the Colts win the Superbowl i'll do a nudy run across the Nullabor. The teams to beat in the AFC atm are Denver and San Diego...the rest of the teams you mentioned are top quality but no better than the likes of the Giants, Cowboys, Panthers, Falcons and Seahawks.

And Chicagos defense is about more than Urlacher. They are awesome and far and away the class of the entire NFL right now.

How else do you work out who is better???

we can just say the AFC is stronger but there are no facts.

ATM the NFC is ahead but the schedule may change with the AFC taking control. At least this way we have stats to back up the claims.

the rams are the sleeper this year imo - no big fuss made about them yet probably because of no mnf game yet.

what, you think because mcnabb can throw against the nfl doormats he has suddenly become an elite qb?

could the nfl have given him an easier schedule to get off to such a fast start so the talking heads could gush over him?

texans (a), giants (h), whiners (a), packers (h), cowboys (h), saints (a).

that's one hell of a scary schedule right there.

let's see what happens when he faces some real defenses. the first time he faced a team with a winning record, the saints, the eagles lost.

btw, he was useless last year without owens. didn't you watch him throw away the eagles season ?

the nfc is giving the afc a bit of a butt whipping.

a couple of afc heavyweights found the going too tough to handle.

6 games were played.

nfc won 4 - lions over bills, panthers over ravens, cowboys over texans, bucs over bengals

afc won 2 - titans over redskins, chargers over whiners

that makes the record

nfc 13 vs 8 afc

Still early days but as the weeks go by, I am less impressed by Indy and without the Edge, I think they may falter in the playoffs.

Chicago are the team to beat but Denver's defence has only yielded 37 points in five games at less than eight points per game which is crazy and they have only given up one touchdown in 20 quarters of football.

Hopefully the Broncos can make it 5-1 against the Browns this weekend.

The Skins are doing a great job helping the NFC win by dropping a game to one of the 2 winless AFC teams.

For a team with so much talent, they are an enigma. They've been off the boil for a long time now.

Personally, I think the notion of conference superiority is way over-rated. In fact, if the Broncos don't make the Super Bowl, I hope the Saints do and win it as well.

Broncos are definitely a chance and if they can get the offense going, they'll be hard to stop in the AFC but they have a very tough schedule and still have to play Cincinatti, Indy, Pittsburgh, San Diego x 2, Kansas City and Seattle.

They have easier games against Oakland, Cleveland, Arizona and San Francisco so if they can win the games they are expected to win and half the tough ones, they'll go close to winning home field in the AFC and they have the tie break of New England, who have a softer schedule than Denver.

i was the same.

i loved the broncos when terrell davis was doing his stuff. not so much since he left.

i loved the oilers back in the warren moon days and titans when mcnair was leading the show. i will still like them as vince young heads towards dominating the league in the future.

but i got so sick of the talking heads jerking off over the cheating patriots and the afc. as an example, last season when i used to watch nfl primetime the two bozos talking would laugh at the nfc north and cream themselves about the patriots and afc in general but the nfc north had a better win record than the afc east at the time. and every week it would be the same old stuff from bozo 1 and 2. it's irritating.

especially after the rams were rorted in superbowl 36 by those cheating patriots and blind officials. stupid no talent dickheads.

hoo.

i feel better after that rant.

superbowl 36 always does that to me.

Division standings means nothing unless you take into consideration strength of schedule.

Some divisions are weak and may have better records than stronger divisions so that arugment to me is a little irrelevant.

I'm not sure what the strongest division is in the NFL, probably the NFC East with the Eagles, Cowboys, Giants and Redskins with the NFC West one of the weakest with the Cardinals and Niners too perennial losers.
