Nic Cage / Bad Lieutenant remake

When I first saw this idea and the fact that Nic Cage is getting the role, I wanted to die a slow and painful death.

Bad Lieutenant is a masterpiece with Harvey Keitel putting in the performance of his life. I don't object to it being remade, but Nic Cage in the lead role????

I loved Cage until after his role in "Leaving Las Vegas". He was great, but has played crap role after crap role ever since.

Hopefully, he can redeem himself. I think he'll stuff it up.

Werner Herzog is the director, that's a positive.

Apparently its not a remake either, it's a totally different story using the Bad Lieutenant name.
