What will this mean for league?

But rag head (red) will still rule the roost, unfortunately. It could mean the Herald becomes a League news outlet. Which could mean Umion suffers.
Are you suggesting that Mr Bandanna Republic help merge the 2 sides together...But rag head (red) will still rule the roost, unfortunately.
Maybe, he is regularly on Nine and writes for the Herald so it's definitely possible. Are you suggesting that Mr Bandanna Republic help merge the 2 sides together...
means nine can now talk the game down on tv and in print!
Both TV and Newspaper (print) are both dying. In the short term both will get some value out of the merger, before death knocks at their door.
League, will get some value from the merger with Nines leagues influence flowing through to the SMH.
Hardly. 9 have been broadcasting league for decades and have been the first to lay the boot in numerous times as well as promote other sports.
Our deal with Fox Sports and even being owned by News Ltd in the past didn't help us with the Daily Telegraph.
The NRL itself won't see a difference.
C9 is a business, and like all businesses wants to make a profit. For this to happen they need to attract viewers. Not everyone who watches C9 is a league fan, so therefore they have to cater for fans of other sports. I see no problem with that.
I dont kmnow if you read the Telegraph or not, but I do. The paper gives an incredible amount of its sporting pages to discussing rugby league. Just like C.9 they are too a business who wants to make a profit. So like it or not they do have to report about other sports.
You would have a point, if 9 actually telecast other sports. At this stage all they have is the NRL and Tennis.

Just because they don’t telecast other sports, does not mean they should not talk about them. People who watch their news programs are not all league fans,
Exactly.
Yeah, cover other sports but why the f**k would you actively promote a competitors broadcast and denigrate your own?
Years of consigning league to a midnight broadcast proves they have. Tabloid style shock stories highlighting players off field behaviour? Cutting after match coverage?I do not believe they do
