Should the Nines be counted as a legitimate premiership. For example, you would say the Cowboys have won two premierships - one Nines Premiership (2014) and one October Premiership (2015). Or is this a dumb idea?

You mean they can eat breakfasts that aren't exclusively stewed prunes?Panfers fans haven't worked out that they're allowed to have opinions that oppose Gus's.
Better yet... teams not taking it seriously and beating teams that do.Interesting thread when I was thinking is the tournament worth putting on in the future because only a handful NRL clubs take it remotely seriously.
Needs more Allan McMahon and Bandage Bear CupsCan we count the Tooheys Challenge as well? Tooth Cup? AMCO Cup? World Sevens?
How about the City Cup they used to play in the second half of the season back 100 years ago?
BBL has shown there is a very marketable place for alternative formats of a game.
Its better to scrap it than have it as it is with teams like Penrith involved.
Its a great form of the game. I'd think about trying to get a competition up and running with teams that have nothing to do with the NRL. New teams. Basically exclude the NRL clubs. See if Fox and or Ten will put some broadcasting cash towards it. Then try to poach players from the NRL, English SL, State cups and Rugby (have a yearly draft). Sort of super league like but not in direct competition with the NRL so that star players could commit to the competition but still play for their NRL clubs.
