I disagree.
What the game needs most of all is a full blown Kangaroo Tour. By Full blown I don't necessarily mean a return to the 32 match monsters of half a century ago. But one like what was proposed. 3 tests, plus club games.
Kangaroo Tours, apart from the wonderful traditions (and what do we have of those left?) does 2 immensly important things. Firstly, it draws 'em out fo the woodwork in the UK, and therefore creates enormous interest. Secondly, it develops a whole group of Australian footballers into master craftsmen of their art. Petre Sterling put it wisely, when he said "You go on tour and do nothing but eatt, drink and sleep football for 9 weeks, with the best there is". Who WOULDN'T want that?
Sure, there is player burnout. But let the players deal with that properly. Not come up with excuses to stay at home because the missus has been nagging you.
The Kangaroo/Kiwi/Lions touring programme of old MUST be resurrected poste haste!
