Sitting their in my delux seats in the canairy yellow retro stand at Cambo last night (semi shelter from the rain), I just could not get over how ref Robo slowed the game down to a snails pace.

Now we all thought the reduced interchange was going to play into our hands ,wrong. The play the balls were slow, the scrums were even slower. Every break down took ages for the play to get going again. Penrith's big forward pack had a breather every few minutes.

Our only chance was to run them ragged, but ref Robo never gave us a chance. Every scrum feed Johnny Cronk had he was asked to feed again and again.

If this trend continues all you will need is a half and a team of grolias and we have neither. Now not for one minute do I think ref Robbo cost us the game, probably right up their in the top ten crappy efforts of the decade. But with blokes like Robinson slowing the game down we have nevile no chance with our playing roster.

Agree there is no way we would have won the game last night but the refereeing was pretty ordinary.
Did anyone else notice the obstruction on Penriths first try. Peni was on the ground appealing for the penalty but the dumb prick just awards it without even checking it upstairs. Peni was given a slight push by Pritchard (i think) knocking him off balance allowing just enough space for Priddis to burrow. On the replay it looked pretty damn obvious it was a deliberate push but no one said anything.

It is the job of an NRL ref to "even out" the comp, as much as possible. Penrith "needed" another win to assist in keeping the ladder as tight, and as close as possible, to ensure "the best, and most exciting year yet" (not that penrith needed any help). They were doing it within each game a year or 2 back, awarding or disallowing tries, based on which side was behind on the board. Until they got called on it, in the paper, at least. Same thing with the "evening up" the penalty count, etc etc etc. Some teams however, just cannot be helped, without the ref actually passing the ball, and tackling for them. Even then, they would lose. Cynical POV, yes. But NRL, Refs, News Ltd have left some damning evidence over the years.

Yep, did notice that. I think cause Peni didn't fall completely over, the ref didn't think twice. But the law is the law, the man playing the ball infringed on a defender, that should have been a penalty. Don't want to sound like making excuses, but that's the way I saw it.

He didnt push him over, just a little nudge, so he was falling backwards instead of falling fowards to stop Priddis. Sh*t call.
