Jeff Lima stays with the Storm, the other player the Tigers mentioned they were chasing was Joel Clinton who has signed with ESL - looks like Tigers have finished their front row recruitment 1 short of what they were promising...

Do you think they are including the Toyota Cup boys like they included them as "new" signings?

Tupou as a front rower??? He's only ever played wing hasn't he???

He is listed as a winger or front row, he is certainly big enuf for prop but i doubt he would provide the same impact there as he would on the wing.

Mason is not a front rower either, and I would rather Tuqiri than him. He is a bad influence wherever he goes.

While I didnt mean Mason would be playing for us I wouldnt be against it. Bad boys seem to come good when they realise their time is running out. Mark Geyer in his second stint with penrith was very good for the younger players in the club. Mason knows its his last chance and I think he'll be good value for some club.

There are more examples of players who didn't learn, Todd Carney, Reni Maitua etc.

And if you weren't implying Tigers were after Mason, what did you mean by saying his situation was not resolved and our recruitment may not be finished?

Doubt he'd come here with Folkes on board. I reckon us and Crusaders are the only ones that could really afford him without re-shuffles.

Carney and Maitua are not close to retirement age though.I'm talking guys who know they have very few years left in them.

I reckon he'll end up at Melb which may mean they will then release Lima. I think we are sitting back waiting to see if it pans out. If it doesnt then we still must have the money sitting about to sign a fringe player or two.

Another crack at Lima would be good.

If we had and if we did snare Lima for 2010 my level of confidence for 2010 would be a lot higher.

After seeing us getting smashed regularly up front for the past four years Iam not over convinced that Bryce Gibbs,Junior Moors,Topou,Fifta, Cayles and anyone else are going to be good enough to support Big Red week in and week out.

A lot will come down to how the refs control the ruck and the speed of the play the ball, 2009 saw a return to a fast play the ball but this seem to change every year. If we go back to a slower play the ball we will get smashed of course if it goes the other way we probably have enough strength up front already

I see your point but I don't completly agree when you consider Big Red was out for large portions of 2009 and 2008 with injuries. With him there our pack is far more dangerous and those that were suppoting him wouldn't need to take up as much flack.

So with the signings that we have made I think there is going to be a bit more starch which will firstly help Big Red but more importantly may mean he doesn't need to do it all on his own.

In saying that though our depth could certainly do with one more big boy for the inevitable injuries that occur.
