I'm loving this new monetary punishments they are using and only sin bins. Make the NRL great again!

MELBOURNE duo Will Chambers and Cameron Munster are the first to cop fines under the revamped judiciary system, following separate offences in Friday’s season-opener.

Chambers was slapped with a grade one contrary conduct charge for his punch on Canterbury forward Sam Kasiano late in the first half of their clash, which ended with both players sin-binned.

Kasiano escaped a charge for his role in the incident, which began when the Bulldogs prop held onto the jersey of Storm halfback Cooper Cronk and ended in Chambers flying in from afar.

— with an early guilty plea to discount the $1500 fine to $1100.

I hate it,

A top line player on $800k / year gets punished much less than the guy in his first year of first grade on the minimum wage of say, $100k.

More inconsistency if you ask me.

Edit: I actually don't hate it, the idea has merits but I'm for consistency across players / teams. This moves away from that.

Agree. When it comes to fines it should be a % of the players wage.
