Stacey Jones has been blocked by the Warriors to accept a role as an assistant coach for the Kiwis at the World Cup. The move has been slammed as shortsighted by the Warriors. Warriors have their problems at the moment so I'm sure they had their reasons.

Another year of finals failure, and a laughing stock among rival NRL clubs on and off the field.
And who have they bought for next year to fix the problem? Virtually no one.
And now this - assistant coach and Kiwi legend Stacey Jones has been offered a job on the New Zealand staff assisting David Kidwell for the World Cup.
But the Warriors have banned him - saying Stacey is needed back home to help the Warriors prepare for 2018.
What a short-sighted view - sending him to the World Cup would have improved Stacey as a coach - and allowed him to forge close relationships with the many Kiwis playing for Aussie clubs - relationships that could come in handy in the future when the Warriors attempt to buy players to make them a force."
