I agree. They have an image problem and are trying to change that. Rather than 'woke' (a dickhead term), I'd call it sensible marketing.

The fact that it is getting a changed after only the first week indicates that it might not have been sensible marketing.

Sport isn't about making people better or more attuned to currently fashionable ideas. It's entertainment. Everyone needs that, even bogans. It was a silly and preachy ad that was seen for what it was and it got canned. Just leave the politics out of it and promote footy for what it actually is, not this idealistic nonsense that really has very little to do with the product.
