The Matty Johns podcast on the Superleague war is a compelling listen.

Seriously wished that Blocker would have shut the f**k up though and let the main actors tell the story.
I couldn’t agree more.
I watched it and thought the same thing. Roach is a dumb merkin and forever has to remind people he is some old school type of tough guy.

He is a massive dope and irrelevant and how he ever gets a Media gig anywhere in these modern times is amazing.

Getting back to the podcast you have to admire Matty/Andrew Johns for their loyalty to their mates despite being offered so much more to go to Super League.

Loyalty? James Packer had given his minions a cheque book each. If you listen to the Rugby League Digest podcast on the super league war, there was one late night when there was just cheque butts left in an empty cheque book. Some of the butts had names on them without numbers. Some had numbers without names. Reserve graders were getting first grade money because the merkin with the cheque book was not a rugby league man and had no idea who he was.

Such a damaging time for the game. It changed everything and set clubs and the administration down a path of reckless spending.

I'd like to think that events this year would force everyone to re-evaluate how they operate but when I see the sort of offer that the Titans have made Fifita I'm not sure thats the case.

Dean Pay has recieved a few hospital passes in his time, but without the support of the club and a factioned board he’s walked.

I tell you this for nothing, Sharp approaching the Minister, the appointment of Max Donnelly and BAs stubborn desire to right the ship are the three best things that happened to the club since Jack Gibson.

I heard one story of country player, who was in/out of the Steelers squad over a few years being called into the Steelers side due to injuries around the time the “war” started and picking up $300k deal over 3 years. Pretty big money in the mid 90’s...

Is this record when was the last time 3 sides had the same points against?

dogs/sharks/warriors all have 214 points scored against them.

He really has had very poor treatment, cant see Barrett doing much better with this list
He never had a chance when salary cap screw ups by the Board and Desi meant that he lost Klemmer, the Morris brothers, Mbye, Woods and Josh Reynolds all in the first year he was there and they haven't opened the cheque book to replace any of them with any real quality.
