I felt In Uetro was a better album . That was real Nirvana for me. Nevermind was far to polished. Bleach, Incesticde, In Uetro had that real grunge sound. So did many of their B songs that never made it on a disc.
Unplugged does represent Nirvanas true sound but also a great Album.

But songs like Serve the servants, Frances's the farm will get her revenge, Sliver, Aneurysm. Just roar power.
It's one of many great albums that was recorded by Steve Albini.

I didn't mind grunge, you just don't hear it that much anymore.

That's because it's not 1993 anymore. Grunge phased out 30yrs ago.
Now it's all about the beats.

Unsure if kids are still learning those instruments like guitar and piano these days. I rarely see kids walking around with a guitar anymore like I remember.

Never seen a band without guitars and most refer to it as keyboards rather than pionos, as there is much more scope for sound output on a keybaord than a piono, keyboards ar still pretty popular.

We have live bands at our pub every weekend.

Sure. But it's less and less. It's mostly electronic these days with a mix of these solo folk artists.
And if guitars playing it's mostly chords. Rare to hear these long epic solos like Slash or Pink Floyd for example where it could be the focal point of the song.

There's a festival in my hood in two weeks. I doubt there is a guitar amongst them. I think the only artist I have heard of is Skrillex and he/they are atrocious. Well this boomer thinks so anyway.

You're right, it is but because of economic reasons, unfortunately. it's not that they don't want to, it's hard to make a dollar,

You can get a DJ to play dance music all night for about $300-$500

A decent band that can draw a crowd are min $5K and you need a decent venue to make money out of that. My local is a decent venue but relies on the tourist trade and mostly engage cover bands
