14 Warriors 10 3 0 7 1 -46 8
15 Rabbitohs 10 2 1 7 1 -142 7

Here is the ladder at the current moment..
Us and the Dragons are the only teams that have not had the bye..
If you add the bye on to us, it takes us up to 12 points and 9th position, just out of the 8 on For and Against.. For a team that hasnt played its best footy yet and no where near its potential, i consider 12 points and 9th place at the moment pretty good as it is only 3 wins off 1st place..
It is said that 28 points will get you in to the 8.. I have gone through our draw and honestly said which games i think we will win and lose taking in to account we dont have major injury concerns.
R12 - Souths - Win
R13 - Broncos - Win
R14 - Raiders - Win
R15 - Panthers - Loss
R16 - BYE
R17 - Knights - Win
R18 - Warriors - Win
R19 - Bulldogs - Loss
R20 - Dragons - Win
R21 - Broncos - Loss
R22 - Roosters - Loss
R23 - Eels - Win
R24 - BYE
R25 - Storm - Win
R26 - Cowboys - Win

It might not look anything like that come seasons end, but that is what i realistically think we can do in the remaining of the season. We would finish on 34 Points which some people will probably say is a bit high for us. I know you will all probably say there is no way you can predict that concerning injuries and i am getting to far ahead of myself etc, but as i said that is my opinion considering there is no major injuries..
34 Points would be good, it would place us around about 5-6th place.. Mind you if there were any major injuries (Dare i say Kimmorley, Peachey, Stevens) i would re-think this all over again..

What are your opinions?

There is no way you can predict that concerning injuries. You're getting to far ahead of yourself

craigshark i admire your optimism and somewhat share it.

at the beginning of the season i had a largish wager on cronulla to make the 8 and budgeted for 6 wins from the first 12 games.

if we beat souths we have achieved that total and with two byes up our sleeve we are still alive.
the saving grace has been the away wins, i think the team is growing in confidence and raper impresses me with his calmness under pressure.

a couple of unexpected wins will be beneficial.

i fancy us at home against penrith and the dogs, playing newcastle when we do will is to our benefit as long as we retain kimmorley, stevens and bailey........oh and i forgot we have that extremely talented and highly regarded five eighth greg bird to return.

footy is good fun hey!!

Perish the thought, but how long would it take you blokes to adjust if you lost Stevo and Kimmorley?

"lifes a gamble, yeah, yeah, yeah!!!!!!!!!!!"

For a rable of a team that has no prospects in most peoples eyes we aint doing too bad at all. No byes is a good omen and our away wins have been tops. I ont look to futher to the future other than us taking each week at a time

It is a very concerning thought just quietly.
Add to that Peach.
they are 3 of our most consistent performers.

Our team goes into shutdown without Peach. Same with Noddy but we play better without him compared to being without Peach. As for Stevo, we lose our toughness up front and it doesn't allow Kimmorley to play his best.

Ok. Can anyone tell me: If we sneak into the eight in seventh or eighth place at the end of the season (which is MY prediction), how would the finals draw be construed? Would we have to play the first or second place team at their home ground?

Yep, if we finished 7th or 8th we'd have to play either the 2nd or 1st team at their home ground.

Same goes if we were to finish fifth or sixth we would have to play third or fourth at their home ground...

Far too optimistic Craigshark. There is no way to accurately predict that far ahead. In saying that though, even if you got most of those wins right, it will be a big improvement on last year.

It's not unreasonable to think we can make the 8.
I think we are a chance of scraping in and if we do I will be very happy.

Our team has improved on last year and we are starting to see some improvement in the side. We have already bettered our efforts of season 03 imo and all we can do is keep improving and work towards becoming a stronger side

I think we can make the 8. I don't believe we will win that many games. I hope I am wrong but geez, 34 points is very optimistic.

I just want to see us finish in a better position than last year!
But our efforts so far would indicate we will win more than just 8 games

Yep. Totally agree, any improvement is a good thing. Ofcourse making the 8 is this years goal though. 34 points is too optimistic, don't you think?

I don't think so. 34 points is doable, depending on how we go v Canberra and Newcastle

I hope you are right. I'm just trying to be realistic. I think 28 points is a good pace to aim.

Might have a look at Kimmorleyless side in two weeks.
