Ivan Cleary said he would rather lose a WCC, as opposed to not get a chance to play in one.

Ivan knows.

Until the timing of the game is changed, the Poms will always be better prepared and most NRL sides will see it as a trial.

To be fair to Wigan they have only played one game this year and that was against a team that will likely finish near the bottom of Super League.

Decent game overall. That Wigan try wasn’t a try but god will sort old mate out for his sins. Panthers had chances, that Jai Field sideline tackle was impressive.

This.

One of the journos asked in the presser if we should of came over earlier to play another trial.

Ivan said 'They did it this way to not ruin their season'

So you either spend longer preparing for a trial 2 weeks before your comp starts and burn out early or you go in under prepared.

Meanwhile Wigan played Round 1 last week, So essentially are 3 weeks further developed

Yeah but they played what 3 or 4 trials before that round 1 game?

As opposed to zero games

If they get a ref who butchers them like the one on the weekend did, they'll always struggle.

Awarding Wigan's final try via TMO was one of the craziest calls I've ever seen. Massive double movement, didn't even look to have been near the line.

It is hard when it is your team BUT everyone and every news agency is saying the same thing. Tells you all you have to know about the calls
