Nah, at least 75% of your games should be off the bench if you want to be bench players of the year.

should also be restricted to minutes because some bench players come on and play more for the starter they just subbed on for

Well thats what happens in the NBA, the majority of the 6th men come on an play 30+ minutes a game. Starters usually play ~35min, so they arent far off that. + They usually play more minutes then the guy they subbed.

I'd like to see something like the NBA's 6th man award. Best bench player of the year. Award the hard work or game changing ability of guys like Mateo, Gillett, Segeyaro, Hinchcliffe or James Graham.

Thoughts?

Sam Kasiano against the Knights this year, 6+ dropped balls inside their 20!

The refs as 14th or 15th man for the opposition whenever the Sharks are playing, the SCOUNDRELS!

Someone beat me to merrin.

Teams that don't hve 80 minute hookers through a bit of a curveball into this (segs being one of the nominees mentioned so far is a good example).

How about Chris Sandow :)

More 14th men would be nice e.g. a streaking or running fan or someone who ballses up the interchange rules.
