The Rugby league world cup is approaching. Just think its worthwhile discussing the benefits that this tournament will give rugby league and the positive flow on effect it may cause.

One thing I hope the Nrl do is have membership stalls at all games. Any new fans attending the World Cup games should have access to buy Nrl club membership packages.

Great idea. In fact an international membership approach for our clubs could work very well! Now that's proactive!

The Nrl clubs should interview each and every rep player they have after the World Cup and put a video or clip together to showcase the talent each club has. And highlight the inclusive, cultural, worldly game of rugby league. This video could be used in membership and Nrl marketing.

Lets hope their are some more proactive ideas. I would add that gaining International members will cocoolest ment the NRL clubs much like the international fsscination fans have fir the English Premier league siccer clubs. Its something that is positive and constructive. Lets see what the clubs actually do?

Unfortunately any promotion of the World Cup will have to be done the hard way. Ch9 wont touch it, Fox aren’t/weren’t talking about it. Is anything emanating out of Ch7?? How good would it have been to see some commercials during the AwFuL finals series(RLWC should have stipulated that prior to awarding the rights).

Fox are running NRL 360 as usual right throughout the World Cup, it would be safe to assume most of the discussion will be about the World Cup.

Is Kent going to be on it?
I wouldn't be surprised if he passed on it and someone else is co-host.

They advertise very heavily during NFL games on 7, I didn't watch any AFL this year but it would've been a mistake if they didn't at least chuck an ad on during the Grand Final.

History shows us that NRL clubs are not very good at promoting themselves let alone trying to benefit from a world cup.
Most NRL clubs are insular and can't see the benefits that a world cup can bring them.

Understand, though this thinking can change. I'm pretty sure Fox 502 have belatedly decided to continue with the show pn Mondays till the end of the world cup. Pretty sure that was a result of complaints to that organization about the poor coverage of the world cup.
