NRL Grand Final Pre game entertainment

Since when did the fat man organise the entertainment? Can't be as bad as the world's biggest bbq, thou rugby league has some pretty infamous grand final entertainment stuff-ups.

Meatloaf! :roll: I mean really. It astounds me how out of touch with the times the NRL marketing team really are. Ok, 'Bat Out of Hell' is a classic song but jeez, it's so not appropriate and yesterday, or actually, yesterdecade. The Guru's deserve to be there because they wrote the 'Thats My Team' song and they're just a great Oz rock band.

The Hoodoo Gurus started in 1981. Meatloaf in 1977. Hardly a great deal of difference - if Meatloaf is old hat, then so are the HGs. Meatloaf has just released a new CD (and is performing a song from it at the GF), Hoodoo Gurus haven't for ages.

Plus Meatloafs songs are so much better and the charts in Australia and worldwide prove that.

Yeah i no what you mean!!.......look i am abit sceptical about Meat Loaf....."Bat ou tof Hell" is a great song but?? i don't no with the appeal factor??

Billy Idol would of been great last year.....but unfortunately another infamous NRL stuff up!!

Still think though Ozzy Osbourne would generate enormous exposure for the NRL if they could get him out!!

Metallica being at BDO is old news.

I read somewhere Powderfinger or Silverchair were going to be there, but I doubt that. I think Powderfingers tour starts around the same time as the GF in Europe and who knows about Silverchair? Robbie won't be in the country until December.

Why the hell do we want another bloody pop princess from America, sheesh. "Oooo Australia, lets mime along to a sugary sweet song, that will get you pumped for the big game!" Hoodoo Gurus should be a given really since they wrote the theme song. And Meatloaf? Well it's better than the Idol chick.

I think where forgetting something here Boy's & Galz's.......the Hoodoo Gurus didn't even write the song....it was written by Alan Wilson ( Parramatta trainer & former Crounulla star)....all they did was take the credit for it as it resembled one of there hit's.....if anything Alan Wilson should be up there singing the song :lol: :lol:

Much the same as Kylie or Madonna.....other's write it & they get all the glory & for the next 2 months where subjected to them on TV waving there 40 year old cellulite backsides around!!

Um hello, like I said, the Guru's wrote the "Thats My Team" song that has been so popular this year and hence they'll be performing it live at the GF. That kinda makes sense don't you think. Meatloaf on the other hand, sheeesh! Yeah I'm sure he's going to be hugely popular. Like someone else said, looks like Fatty personally hand picked it himself.

Ron I think you'll find that all Alan did was change the words around on the Gurus "Thats My Scene" hit, not the other way around. The music and lyrical arangments were already there on the original song. It's hardly the same as some producer writing all the music & lyrics to a song and then getting some bimbo up with a nice ar$e and big t!ts to mime along to it.

Yeah that's fine....im not denting that....but?? what i meant was that if Allan didn't do what he did...there wouldn't be any "that's my team"...he changed the words around....wen't to the NRL....they put it to the Hoodoo Gurus...and it wasn't like they wouldn't be interested as they haven't been popular since the early 90's and the rest is history!!

Allan done a great job incorperating this song into the old hit "that's my scene" & the Hoodoo Gurus have again become popular & riding on this success!!
