Hi all,
The much anticipated NRL live app has arrived. Search the app store for NRL live. $6 per week, $15 per month or $90 a year.

I think i'll try the weekly one and see if i can connect my iphone to a bigger screen such as my pc.

Assume you're in QLD as it was live in NSW. Still shithouse.

Read the small print dude. It's up to 6 games live (presumably the foxtel games). Nine games won't be broadcast before the Nine telecast.

Anyone got an idea of how much bandwidth the video uses? Would be good to know how much of your data plan it's eating up.

When I get home I'm gonna try connecting my iPhone to my tv via my video out cable and see if streaming it to the TV works, that could be pretty handy.

I haven't seen any discussion on this... Has anybody used the pay version yet? How it is it? Any limitations, especially unlisted? It has to be an android or apple product only but does appear to allow a wifi connection.

I had hoped this would be the big win on the NRL rights deal for fans... I didn't even realise it was released until today.

What cord do you use to connect iPhone to tv?
There is a special cable that you can get that lets you hook up HDMI from memory. I bought my son one. I have Android though, so I bought the samsung connector.

I'm thinking I'll try the app. I can't get fox in the house I'm in, so this was my dream option. Hope it streams ok... Nobody has commented on that.

Quality isn't great, but that might be my connection. $15 a month is a bargain compared to what Fox was charging me. And to be honest there wasn't much I watched on there anyway.

The video doesn't even fill out on my phone, how disappointing that is..

Sound quality is good, picture is good (although being so small that's not very hard to achieve).

If you've got an iPhone, hit the arrow button at the bottom right when you're watching a video, that'll change the UI to the standard iPhone video UI- there'll then be a button at the top right of the screen with a box with arrows in it. Press that and the video should then fill the screen.

I know there was a few disappointed people out there that the iPad app wasn't out yet, the iPhone app works ok on the iPad. Shame about a few buffering issues, and I'd love to try it through AirPlay and the ATV if it was available like the AFL supposedly is.

Yeah that wasn't working before, but did for the Bulldogs vs Cowboys game, odd :S

Someone on google play was complaining it doesnt work on tablets, but I just downloaded it and started up a game replay and it worked fine. Id like the option of setting stream quality though, its below par unfortunately.

Watched my first games on the app yesterday and have similar thoughts...decent start for the live streaming apps, but there are some improvements to be made and hopefully the guys who made and manage the apps are looking closely to see how things are going in the first few weeks and keep improving it from there.

Would love to see Dream Team and NRL tipping integrated with it. This would make it a must for all NRL fans.

I also think they could charge $2 for an individual game, I won't use this app to watch all my games just the ones that are on when I'm not at home.
