did any one see this excellent season preview last night.
again the sharks were discussed and shown in a positive light and gained praise and were tipped to have a fine season by the panel including russell fairfax, paul green and laurie daley(who seemed more positive in his comments than in the big league preview).
raper continues to handle the media well and presents a likeable image for supporters.
without continually bashing chris anderson, who has a great coaching record, its good to see a coach willing to discuss his approach and thoughts in a clear open manner.
rapers comments re the great camaraderie that exists between the players is very heartening.
roll on saturday night!!!!

I agree, I thought Raper handled himself very well, he has an excellent attitude which surely is transferring to the players.

I too noticed that Daley was much more positive towards our hope for this years in comparison to the magazine preview.

Paul Green also liked our chances :D

I still remember a try he scored one cold Saturday night when he stepped through the defence in the middle of the field from about 45 metres out...I believe we were wearing the lame reebok diagonal stripe jerseys at the time.

It was brilliant, out of nowhere. Gee he sure vanished from the radar though didnt he?

It was a two hour special and the sharks review was second last. I was beginning to wonder if this was a reflection of the panels thoughts on the teams chances. The Raper interview was a pleasent surprise and seemed to be one of the longest of the whole program. He emphasised his past connections to the club like being a ballboy and taking the sand out to sludge. There was a great photo of his Sharks premiership winning under 21s team and footage of Wigans challange cup victory.

Yeah it was a good coverage of the Sharks. Russel Fairfax thought our forward pack was awesome. Wayne Pierce who wrote off our chances last year , was more positive about the Sharks propects this year.

I liked the idea that Raper was influenced by Lang's coaching. We were allways competitive under Lang. I hope Raper can be as successful as Lang but take as that extra step. He clearly has a passion for the Sharks club, and he's a local boy.

Well the radar don't work past 10th on the ladder or North of Brisbane.
That was where he was located.

Didnt he get a go at the Roosters for a while too?
Injury was involved a lot too
And he got sacked
He wasnt just playing for weak teams...he just wasnt playing.
