So the 'one with the make-up' has now snubbed the Dolphins, shat on the Warriors and started back with the Broncos! Contracts, ay?

Another Origin-affected round of club footy. With the bye, the Warriors can hopefully spend a nice spell back in NZ, or elsewhere, with time away from it all.

We start tonight with the Sharks at home to the Storm. There's players out but it's still one of those games that are likely to be repeated in September. Will Melbourne lose two in a row? They may not finish second this year which will be seen as a real come down.

Friday has the Knights and Rabbitohs. Newcastle - the Hunter - needs a lift at the moment. The rain and floods have moved up there. It's always been a battlers town and area. They need their team doing well.

Saturday night we'll go Wests and the Eels. The tryless Tigers gave it a real good go last week at Mt Smart, but they just don't seem to have many points in them and Parramatta usually bounce back from a loss.

We close out with the Broncos and Dragons, the latter will drop out of the eight if they lose, and a gleeful Manly will step into it, from the comfort of their loungerooms.

Enjoy.

Cronulla wins easily but I'm not sure what to read into that. The Storm usually have plenty of depth during Origin. Unlike a Qld team they can't blame the cold in Sydney either!

Nikorima chopped down at the line on a Mitchell break, then duffs the kick on last and Knights run away to score.

Knights 22, Souths 34, twenty minutes to go.

The homeside should fancy their chances! Souths aren't too flash holding a lead.

Edit: Souths hold on but game ends in an all-in!

They have been talking how To'o playing for NSW but Samoa in world cup as an issue. Simple fix, shut NRL down for 3 weeks between Rd 6 12 and 18, let NSW play SOO and internationals play all for same money. Then see who they want to play for.
Also no dilution of NRL games.

I was also thinking how unfair it is that someone like To'o can play for NSW and Tonga whereas a player with similar circumstances can't play for NZ.

We'll see how Tonga go in this world cup. If they blitz it then maybe their 'tier-two' status should be changed.

28-20 to the Eels. The Tigers fans file out of historic Leichhardt pretty dejected looking.

Hope Brooks stayed in the sheds until they had all gone

Hot on attack with only 12 men a few mins before halftime, kicks on the 2nd and doesn’t get it through the line, backs it up with a ridiculous 6 again in his own half and Parra score. Lose ball with a few seconds remaining on the clock, if he dives on the loose ball no damage done, instead tries to kick it across the Tasman, has an air swing, Parra score and take the lead into halftime. Not long after halftime Moses fends off his weak attempt to tackle, try time again

Gee, they went on and on about how good the Broncos were this afternoon and evening on ABC Radio. I didn't miss all the Brisbane hype, ay? The last few years were kind of nice.

Anyway, they handled St George quite easily, on the 30th anniversary of Brisbane's first premiership, over the same opponent.
