NRL Rd 7 2021 - General Non-Warriors Thread

The Robina faithful were devastated, I haven't heard them being that noisy in the first half since the Preston Campbell/Scott Prince days.

Then they lost.
Caught the Kayo highlights and seemed Benji Magic and ill discipline cost Titans.

Cheers to the Warriors for flicking our switch

Tom is on another planet and the lift in the likes of DCE and taupau unbelievable too. Foran must be very popular seeing how much his try was just celebrated

Some game next week too, Panthers! Beat them in Bathurst and you could be shaking up the comp.

Roosters roll Dragons 34-10, there's been some lop-sided results this weekend.

The Walker kid got MOTM.

Now for the big one in Melbourne, I've just cracked open my first beer...

Look at that mid-table crush, next weekend will be fascinating.

Madge to go today in an emergency Tigers meeting?

worst start in Tigers history after 7 games. Madge could be walking the plank today.

He was one of those 'why didn't he coach the Warriors?' puzzles. Remember, he was Kiwis coach and looking for another NRL gig after ending his successful tenure at Souths. Maybe the Warriors HQ knew something we didn't? They went for Cappy didn't they? Or was it Kearney?

Madge's lack of success probably has as much to do with the underlying structural issues at the Tigers than anything else. Cleary wasn't exactly great there either, and look at how he's gone at Penrith.

I probably slightly disagree there, in 12 months Cleary had the Tigers heading in an upwards direction and bringing some players along

Maguire came in and immediately started dropping big names trying to make points which has been detrimental in the long run. The retention and recruitment at the club is appealing, Leilua and Roberts are proven dropkicks that weren’t going to help a team up the ladder, and they’ve paid big wedge to players that were never going to turn the club around

Such a clear top 5 - the only surprise is that it isn't a clear top 6 with Canberra there.

The impact Turbo has on Manly is amazing. No player in the comp more important to his team than he is. Literally transforms the belief of the squad just being on the field.

It is crazy, all of a sudden they can hold onto the ball instead of dropping it continuously. And the half chances that are created he takes rather than ending up nothing when he isn’t there.

Will be interesting to see where the season goes if he can stay fit, combo wise it can only improve with Foran and DCE and Schuster just keeps getting better week after week to the point he is among the top handful of ball playing forwards. Sironen and Suli to add in but the real wildcard is Fainu’s court case in a month or 2, he is a very, very good 9
