NRL Rd 9 2022 - General Non-Warriors Thread

Cherry-Evans v Hastings, Feud renewed? Gee, I don't know. The NRL and their hype machine loves a player v player war. This one seems quite tame compared to past ones!

Tonight, and we have the seemingly 'next year'-focused Rabbitohs coach up against his old club, the Broncos. Surely Bennett's too much of an old pro to let distractions get in the way of the task at hand? Brisbane have won two in a row. Souths would be a big scalp.

Gee, the Raiders and Bulldogs. I feel for both clubs. traditionally they've been so strong. I want the Bulldogs to win, as they're at absolute rock-bottom. With Canberra it just seems like a slump in form. The Panthers should have too much class for the Eels. Last year's final - with the errant trainer - will be a motivation for Parra. Are they good enough to challenge the top-two this year?

Saturday, Manly v Tigers, Daly v Jarrod. Expect some heavy contact! Roosters v Titans, two sides simply not playing well, and the Cowboys should add to the Knights misery.

Sunday, the Storm look unstoppable v Dragons. I can't wait for them to meet Penrith. We close out at Shark Park, standing room only (I've found this out the hard way), with Johnson returning to his old club. He'll have a blinder! He always does, but I'm terrified of Talakai!

Enjoy.

Lol media trying to build up DCE v Hastings but both of them put that straight to bed, it’s Barrett he has the issues with. Looking forward to seeing 3 Trbojevic’s run out in the starting 13

Dogs v Raiders, geez you’d hope they aren’t charging patrons for that one

The Broncos are back. Beating Souths in Sydney is a good effort.

Kodi is heading to Souths, no? We might play him next week!

Wow the bright side for Souths after that is Kodi is coming lol

Letting Reynolds go was sad on many levels

So that's another side there for the taking. If the Warriors get their act together they could go into Origin with at least half their games won.

If they benefit through Origin then that bodes well for a run to the finals.

But they have to get their act together. In comparison, the Phoenix have just made the A-League finals. If they can do it...

So, famous face-offs. There's Spud v Chief, of course. Hoppa's had one too, but who against? I should know it, it's the Chief as well, isn't it? If so, the prop picking on a winger is a bit lowly and why does he get two?

Who else? I can see Terry Hill. Yes, I definitely can.

Who was it that dealt to Andrew Johns in SOO?

Geyer and Lewis (well Geyer and Queensland was spine chilling) - I loved big MG as a player

So after last night, and before Sunday, it’s worth remembering that we beat Brisbane, quite comfortably. We have the ability to beat the Sharks (and Rabbits when we get to them). Just have to put it together on the day.

Penrith Stadium is sold out. Gee, they've got some fair weather fans these days.

It's freezing in Penrith tonight but there they are, all rugged up in their Panthers gear.

Let's hope they win their 22nd straight game at home or else they might lose a few hundred fans who didn't turn up to see them lose.

Addo-who?-Carr is turning out for the Bulldogs. It's amazing how their star falls when they leave a glamour club.

Plus, is Gus taking credit for this loss?

Oopsie...
That was some finish though. Those few hundred fans that thought they wouldn't turn up again just might have a rethink.

Plus Parra? Take the two right in front to make it 24-14 with three or so minutes to go. Didn't they know they're not hard enough not to give away posession, a converted try and then - what should've been - a two-point field-goal?

Next time at least make Penrith (or the Storm) score two tries in those last few minutes!

'...and he's cut down by Morgan Harper...'

Sounds like Dessie's worked his magic!
